New Update on Delta iOS App Eliminates Tedious Check-In Process
Delta has launched a new app that is most beneficial to travelers. The new iOS Fly Delta App allows travelers to automatically check in, making flying a lot more comfortable for them.
According to reports, the iOS Delta app serves to eliminate the check-in process that is usually done at the airport. Instead, it automatically shows the boarding pass of the passenger. This indicates that travelers who have the Delta iOS app on their phones can receive a copy of their boarding pass at least 24 hours before their flight, so they no longer need to fall in line at the airport and go through the wearisome process on the day of their trip.
Delta's new app may reportedly urge other airlines to adopt the same system to make it a lot easier for their passengers to travel. The new app benefits the around 180 million customers of Delta each year. Aside from eliminating the check-in process and displaying the boarding pass 24 hours before the scheduled flight, the new app also allows travelers who are about to go on multiple trips to toggle between trips.
As soon as one downloads the app, Delta says, "We've added Automatic Check-In to the Fly Delta app. This means that within 24 hours of your scheduled departure, we'll automatically check you in when you open up the Fly Delta app. Just open the app and you'll be on your way."
So far, the update on the Delta app is only available to iOS users. Android users have to wait for an indefinite time before the update arrives on their phones.
With the new update on its mobile app, Delta proves to be stepping up the game. Before the Delta iOS app update, the company confirmed that SkyMiles members could finally use their fingerprints instead of boarding passes at Reagan Washington National Airport — a first for any airline.
