New York City 'Trophy' Apartment Units Could Sell for $250 Million Each

Units at the 70-floor skyscraper overlooking Central Park could sell for about $250 million each, a price that only billionaires can afford to pay.
Dubbed "One57," the residential building is still being consticle published tructed near Central Park but the price of its units has already become a hot topic, said an Associated Press arby Daily Mail. A four-story apartment in this building could cost more than twice than expensive penthouse units in other luxury condos overlooking the New York City urban park.
All these price details were revealed in the documents filed by the developer at the attorney general's office, the Associated Press added. The hefty price surely comes with luxury for the buyer as a unit comes with 16 bedrooms, 17 bedrooms, a large terrace and five balconies to accommodate family gatherings and even visiting guests.

Monthly charges for units in this building could read $45,000. That is aside from the almost $700,000 annual taxes for an apartment housed in the skyscraper.
The floor plan of the units make the apartments look like a really big house inside a tall building. "These are the trophy buildings of our era, and the foreign buyer clearly fuels this very, very high-end condominium tower market," broker John Burger told the Associated Press.
On its official website, One57 described the skyscraper as the work of award-winning architect Christian De Portzamparc. He has created a building which walls are made of glass to give owners an "unobstructed view" of New York and Manhattan at the comfort of their own homes.
The interiors of the apartment units also revealed perfectly designed homes with the help of Danish designer Thomas Juul-Hansen. One57 appears to have a new modernist approach to apartment living in the big city.
The Associated Press added that the design and engineering of the building gives unit owners with a breathtaking 360-degree view of New York. They can also look down at Central Park and other landmarks in the city from the 70-story building which first opened in 2014 but is still being completed.
It now occupies 220 Central Park and is taking shape to become the highest residential building in the area. Buyers, who are planning to spend their fortune on these trophy units, are expected to invest to this new development at the heart of New York.
Other similar developments in New York are the Central Park Tower and the 520 Park Avenue. These skyscrapers will also offer luxurious apartments units for the rich.
