'Nex Machina' Latest News: Housemarque to Release Physical Copies and Collector's Edition on Nov. 10
"Nex Machina," the acclaimed arcade shooter from Housemarque, is the gaming company's successful attempt at bringing back the "Smash TV" gameplay style to modern consoles. With the studio's latest announcement, it is now also one of the few titles that they are releasing as a physical copy.
It will also be a welcome change of pace for Housemarque that, until now, has released their previous games only in the form of digital releases. The "Resogun" creator has just announced that "Nex Machina" will be coming out in disc-based format via Limited Run Games on Nov. 10.
Fans of the top-down shooter can now get some physical bonuses alongside the game by early November this year. There will be three different editions to choose from as well, all of which comes with a game disc and bonus cover art on the case.
Prices start at $30 for collectors looking for something physical as a keepsake of this well-received arcade title, according to Engadget.
The standard edition does not add much to the game when compared to a digital download, however. The goodies really start coming with the $65 Collector's Edition that adds a CD soundtrack, an 18-inch by 24-inch poster, and four art prints in a collector's box that is also covered by a different artwork.
There's also a special third edition, which comes with a unique cover art. Fans will have to wait for the holiday season to nab it, however, with this bundle only being sold at PSX event later this December.
As an offer on Limited Run, supplies will be very limited indeed. The discs, which won't be region-locked, will be available as part of a relatively small batch that probably will not last long under demand.
The last time that Housemarque released a digital copy was "Angry Birds Trilogy" way back in 2012. "Nex Machina" physical and collector's editions will be available on Nov. 10 for the PlayStation 4.
