Nexus 4 Smartphone to Launch in All White

LG will release an all-white version of the Nexus 4 smartphone.

The company confirmed the news in a press release earlier today. The device will feature the same specifications as the original version.

"Nexus 4 set the standard for Android 4.2, JellyBean smartphones," said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Mobile Communications Company. "Nexus 4 White delivers the same Google experience to consumers in a stylish and attractive color option."

The new version comes with the same 4.7-inch 1280 x 768 True HD IPS Plus display with 320ppi, which is also found on the regular model. It also features a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and 2GB of RAM.

The White Nexus 4 will launch in Hong Kong on May 29 and will roll out in other markets during the next several weeks.

A Google+ user named Ervin Sue posted pictures of this new white model earlier this month. Sue claimed he purchased the smartphone from "a local buy and sell site." The white Nexus 4 has made appearances in earlier leaks, but this one differs as its backing has a white Crystal Reflective Process back and white sides with a black trim around the display.

A white version also popped up on a Vietnamese site Tinh te back in January, but this model had a duller back plate. It did not resemble the stock back plate found on the current version of the LG Nexus 4. It is not clear if LG will officially launch the device in the color, but it could end up debuting at Google I/O later this month.

Google is also rumored to be introducing a new version of the LG Nexus 4 with 32GB of memory and full LTE connectivity.
