Nexus 5 16GB Model Back in Stock in Google Play Store
The Nexus 5 16GB black model is finally back in stock in the Google Play store.
It is once again available for ordering for customers located in the U.S. The ship dates are estimated for 3-4 weeks for both colors of the 16GB model.
The 32GB model is also still available with the black model expected to arrive in two to three weeks and the white shipping by Nov. 26.
The Nexus 5 shortages have not been as frequent as the Google's Nexus 4 which launched last year also and sold out extremely fast. That device's stock shortages were far greater The Nexus 5 always remained available in other capacities aside from the 16GB black version.
Google's product launches frequently run into problems despite success the tech giant has had in most other areas of business.
Google Play is probably the best place for people to purchase the Nexus 5 as the price will be $100 less for those purchasing the device directly through the interactive store.
Sprint and T-Mobile offer the smartphone on-contract for $450, which shows that Google is cutting the price in its interactive store in order to encourage buyers to use that saved $100 for apps and other portable entertainment.
The carriers are charging the exact amount Google is charging them for the device, so they hope to make a profit with their monthly plans.
Customers who buy the device in the Google Play store can obtain a SIM card from one of the major carriers to activate it. The smartphone, like its predecessor the Nexus 4, comes automatically unlocked for this very purpose and is very reasonable in comparison to other Android devices such as the Galaxy S4 and HTC One off-contract.
