Nexus 5, Android 4.4 KitKat Release Date Rumored October 14 as Android Log File Is Leaked

Google is likely to release Android 4.4 KitKat along with the Nexus 5 sometime next month, according to recent rumors., with Oct. 14 being touted as the likely date.

A log file has sparked the new rumors after being unveiled by blog site Myce. The file shows the upcoming Android running on the next Nexus, revealing information about the device.

The leaked screenshot suggests the Nexus 5 display resolution to be 1920 x 1080 pixels, with screen resolution expected to be 443 pixels per inch (ppi). It also shows the Nexus 5 supports the wireless charging feature and mentions Qualcomm sensors.

Previously, the rumored specs for the Nexus 5 include a Full HD screen display with either 5.0-inches or 5.2-inches, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor at 2.3GHz and 3GB of RAM. The device is also rumored to have a camera made by Nikon.

As for the price, the Nexus 5 is expected to be sold at $385 for the 8 GB model and $465 for the 16 GB model.

Latest rumors suggest the device may be released with the Android 4.4 Kit Kat, as it's not uncommon for Google to release new devices with an updated OS.

The Android 4.4 KitKat update will replace the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, which arrived alongside the Nexus 7 in July.
