Nexus 7 2013 Release Date on Verizon Set for February 13
The Nexus 7 2013 model will finally be released on the Verizon network sometime in the near future, and it could be as soon as Feb. 13, according to latest reports.
A tipster sent an image of Verizon-branded screen protectors for the Nexus 7 (2013), and Droid-Life reported that an unnamed source confirmed that the tablet will launch on the network soon with the rumored release date set for Feb. 13.
Neither Verizon nor Google has confirmed this rumor yet but the screen protector packaging is a good indicator that the tablet will be available on Big Red within the coming weeks or months.
Cases for the Nexus 7 and Nexus 5 smartphone are now on sale in the Google Play store for 25 percent less than their normal price.
This deal will be available for a limited time and can be used on the Nexus 7 sleeve and folio as well as the Nexus 5 bumper case and LG Quickcover for the handset. These accessories are normally priced pretty high so a 25 percent off discount is significant.
There is no word on when this promotion will end so those who are interested should act fast.
The Nexus 7 (2013) was released shortly before the summer of last year and introduced Android 4.3 JellyBean to the market. It features impressive specs including a 7-inch 1920 x 1200 HD display, 2GB RAM, a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 16/32GB of internal storage, built-in wireless charging, and a 5-megapixel rear camera.
The tablet also introduced Android 4.3, JellyBean which was unveiled alongside the device earlier this year. The display on the Nexus 7 is 1080p which makes it the first Full HD 7-inch slate. The device's virtual sound technology is also quite impressive, as it gives users a 5.1 surround sound experience by using headphones or build-in speakers.
