Nexus 7 2013 Wireless Dock Now Available for Tablet Through Asus
Asus is now offering new Wireless and Wired charging docks for the Nexus 7 2013 model.
Both of these accessories can be purchased through Amazon.com with the Wireless version costing $90 while the Wired costs $50. The docks are designed in a way to make them blend with the tablet. Asus took its time releasing this component as various third-party companies already launched their own iterations after the device's launch back in the summer of 2013.
Third-party docks normally cost between $50-$60, which brings them close to Asus' official versions.
The Nexus 7 2013 LTE version is now available for Verizon customers and is priced at $249 with a new two-year contract.
Those using the device on Verizon's network already will receive the KVT49L update that will make the tablet LTE compatible and Android 4.4.2 compatible.
Verizon is selling this LTE version of the Nexus 7 at $100 cheaper than the Google Play store. However, these savings require buyers to sign a two-year agreement and that could be problematic for those looking to stay out of being attached to some type of contract. This Verizon version is said to come with 32GB of internal storage.
The Nexus 7 (2013) was released shortly before the summer of last year and introduced Android 4.3 JellyBean to the market. It features impressive specs including a 7-inch 1920 x 1200 HD display, 2GB RAM, a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 16/32GB of internal storage, built-in wireless charging, and a 5-megapixel rear camera.
The tablet also introduced Android 4.3, JellyBean which was unveiled alongside the device earlier this year. The display on the Nexus 7 is 1080p which makes it the first Full HD 7-inch slate. The device's virtual sound technology is also quite impressive, as it gives users a 5.1 surround sound experience by using headphones or build-in speakers.
