Nexus 8 to Launch at I/O Conference June 2014
Google is due to refresh its line of Nexus tablets this year, and the highly anticipated tablet does not fall short of rumors surrounding its release date and specs. However, no sign of a second-generation Nexus 10 2 tablet is in sight, and Google is rumored to be ditching the 10-inch slate in favor of a new 8 inch tablet.
The tablet is slated to be launched at the upcoming Google I/O Conference, which will take place June 25-26.
At Google's I/O Conference 2014, a keynote address will be given for fans to find out about the latest product and platform innovations from Google.

Google has been rumored to be dropping both its 10 and 7-inch tablet lines and replace them with an 8-inch Android tablet. Google's move to drop the 7-inch tablet and move to a larger 8-inch could be part of its efforts to rival the iPad Mini, which remains a popular choice among consumers.
The search engine giant is reportedly undergoing final testing for the Google Nexus 8, which is expected to be powered by a NVIDIA Tegra 4 SoC chipset with 64-bit architecture or the Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU.
If it is indeed powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 4 SoC chipset, it would make the tablet apt for gaming.
Other specs include 3GB RAM and what could be an 8.9-inch screen display. Other reports state that the device could be made by HTC.
The device is also expected to be a launching pad for the new Android 4.5 Lollipop software. Google, which normally releases new software attached to a new device, is set to introduce the latest mobile OS via the Nexus 8.
Despite rumors, however, Google has not released any information on any of its upcoming devices.
With Amazon's mystery launch event set for this month, Google is expected to keep up with the competition by releasing the Nexus 8.
