Nick Cannon Reveals Why Mariah Carey Doesn't Watch His Show
Nick Cannon recently admitted that his wife Mariah Carey does not watch his show "Real Husbands of Hollywood" and admitted that she might be offended if she did.
In the fictitious reality television show that just closed its premiere season on BET network and signed on for a second season, Cannon's fellow cast members mention Carey, the 43-year-old singer-songwriter often.
Cannon, the 32-year-old entertainer and television personality, revealed why his wife has yet to tune into the antics that take place on the show where her name is brought up so often.
"Honestly, Mariah has never seen the show. She probably wouldn't be happy about some of the things I say or things that happen on that show," Cannon said in an OK! Magazine report. "We just don't care. When you have friends like that…Kevin Hart had a DUI last week and I instagrammed a picture right when he got out. He hadn't even changed his clothes and we were on set and I was like, 'Fresh out of jail!'"
Still, the entertainer said his cast members give his wife a hard time on the comedy show aimed at poking fun of reality television.
"They go for the jugular," Cannon said of his castmates in an OK! Magazine report. "There's a Mariah joke every five minutes."
Still, Cannon has kept up with his wife's television show appearances when she serves as a judge on FOX Network's "American Idol." The husband and father defended Carey amid criticism of her on-air feud with fellow judge and rapper Nicki Minaj.
"My wife is the strongest and classiest woman that I've ever met, if you watch the video, she just maintains her composure…I don't think she's moved by the theatrics and pageantry of it all," Cannon previously told "Access Hollywood" about Carey's composure on the show. "She signed up to do a job to help young people accomplish their dreams and this is like a sidebar."
Cannon is gearing up to celebrate his fifth wedding anniversary with Carey, and admitted that being married to her was easy.
"I don't want to knock on wood or anything, but honestly it's probably the easiest part of my life is being married to my dream girl," Cannon said in the OK! Magazine report. "When everything else is going crazy it's like, 'Wow, I have someone who loves me unconditionally.'"
