Nicki Minaj Blasts Ex Safaree Samuels on Social Media, Samuels Fires Back

Nicki Minaj just released her third album, "The Pinkprint" this week, but all eyes are on the rapper's personal life as she got into a Twitter war with her ex-boyfriend, Safaree Samuels, on Saturday, Dec. 20. Though the cause of the feud is unknown, Minaj claims that Samuels is taking advantage of her, and is threatening and even blackmailing her.

"Even when I try to protect ppl, they still try to take advantage of me. Haven't you learned that God is in control? Stop while you're ahead," Minaj tweeted. "Anything you don't appreciate will be taken. God sees your ungrateful evil soul. I gave and gave and gave. Threatening me? Blackmail? Jump."

Minaj went on to imply that she tried to encourage Samuels to make his own way into the industry and start his career as a musician.

"Wanted fame. I gave u my blessing. I still love … I'll always love. So disappointed," she continued.

Afterwards, Minaj tweeted, "Let me be happy now. God," before apologizing to her fans.

"I'm sorry. My fans know this isn't me. Hate this. But I'm human. I do so much. Too much. No man would have stayed loyal in this game like me," she wrote.

Her mother Carol also got involved in the Twitter fray and she wrote, "Safaree when you take on Nicki you take on me and the host of heaven…Stop while you can SB!"

Samuels took to Twitter to defend himself and said that the rapper has not respected him for the past few years.

"Im doing interviews about my [expletive] and [expletive] im promoting … not 1 thing said im doing interviews about nicki. Yall sound ridiculous," he began. "And speaking to some1 about pub and splits isn't blackmail. Stop looking for pitty … you handle your business why can't i? and its not Bout fame its about respect and you've had 0 for me the pass few years."

Samuels also called out Minaj for taking to social media instead of talking to him directly and noted that the public would sympathize with her because she's famous.

"im disappointed too…ur doing something to me publicly that the public doesn't know your doing but you're the victim cuz ur famous," he wrote. "its so ridiculous that instead of hitting my phone u come on here…were not together anymore im fine with that…I can't believe were doin dis…we use to laugh at ppl 4 this."

Minaj and Samuels were together for 12 years before breaking up. Minaj's new album is supposedly inspired by their failed relationship.
