Nicki Minaj Calls Mariah Carey 'Insecure, Bitter'
Nicki Minaj is firing back at recent comments made by fellow "American Idol" judge Mariah Carey.
Minaj, the 30-year-old rapper, has exchanged brash words with the 43-year-old singer-songwriter throughout season 12 of the nationally televised singing competition. However, Minaj seemed to take things one step further when she unleashed a rant on Twitter as an answer to blogger Perez Hilton, who sided with Carey after she let the younger music artist know about her achievements on Billboard.
After Minaj pointed out that Carey was following the same sentiments about a singer who performed on the show, the latter let her fellow judge know just how accomplished she was.

"Back to the Billboard Hot 100 number song which you just performed … which is difficult to get … not everybody has that to their credit," Carey said while waving her hand toward Minaj.
After Hilton asked Minaj to feel the "burn" of Carey's statements on the televised show, Minaj tweeted him directly.
"Bwaha! Burn? Shes sad i tied her record for Hot 100 entries in only 3 years of being in the game. Yep, a black female rapper @perezhilton," Minaj tweeted. "What u SHOULD be doing (wit your messy *expletive*) is asking why a woman SO successful at her age, is still so INSECURE, and bitter @perezhilton."
The 30-year-old rapper took things one step further by feeding into the rumors that former "American Idol" judge Jennifer Lopez may be in talks to replace Carey in the future.
"All dem #1s but JLo phone ringin? Lol," Minaj continued to tweet. "I guess having a personality, being a secure woman, and giving genuine critique still trumps that."
The most recent season has slumped in ratings. "American Idol" executive producer Nigel Lythgoe said that a feud between Carey and Minaj may have hurt the show's chances during season 12.
"That got off to a bad start and that didn't help anything," Lythgoe told the website Zap2it recently. "I don't think we have good chemistry with the judges and that saddens me. They are good individually, but I miss the camaraderie we have had in the past."
