Nicki Minaj Opens Up About Mariah Carey, Second Guessing 'American Idol'

Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey made headlines when a video of their "American Idol" spat at the judges' table went viral, but now the 29-year-old rapper is speaking up about her feelings toward the 42-year-old singer-songwriter.

Minaj is starring in a reality series documenting 21 days of her life on E! Network called "My Truth". On the first of the three-part series, Minaj revealed her feelings about Carey.

"I think Mariah met her match this time, and I don't think she was expecting to meet her match," Minaj said in the Sunday premiere of the show.

Although some rumored strife between the two new "American Idol" judges has been making headlines for weeks, TMZ released an official video where fans could see the two women engaged in a verbal altercation last month. In the video, Minaj could be seen yelling at Carey.

In a transcript of the spat obtained by TMZ, Minaj reportedly chastised Carey for what she deemed "disrespectful" behavior.

"You think I'm playing...Think it's a joke?? Say one more disrespectful thing to me – say one more disrespectful thing to me," Minaj told Carey in an enraged tone. "Don't tell me I'm inadequate. Maybe you're inadequate, you're insecure running down your resume every five minutes. Every time you take a shot at me, Imma (sic) take it back and if you've got a (expletive) problem, handle it."

Carey could be seen on the video exclaiming "why" and reportedly also had her own words for the rapper.

"Oh why, why, why do I have a three-year-old sitting around me," Carey questioned. "I couldn't see my kids because you decided to have a little baby fit and go all around the stage."

Despite seemingly taking charge on the "American Idol" set in the video clip that went viral, Minaj admitted that she was nervous about taking on the role of a judge on the show.

"I'm super nervous and anxious for the first day on 'American Idol'. I'm still second guessing my decision," Minaj revealed on "My Truth." "I'm probably going to be a hundred times guessing this decision because I'm human. It's a big job."
