The PSA followed the appearance of an MTV video clip, with rappers Birdman, Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj on the set of Birdman’s latest music video, “Y.U. Mad."

The three were all smiles and were filmed with Minaj’s hair styled in long blond locks, mimicking label head Lil Wayne’s. Aside from her hair, Minaj’s appearance reflected Wayne’s with camouflage pants, boxer shorts appearing over the top of the pants, a white tank top, diamond chain and a watch.

Although the video was being filmed for Birdman’s song, the media mogul and rapper said it would have never happened without Minaj.

“Nicki gave me that song. She called me one day like, ‘Stunna I got a record I think you would like,’” Birdman said, according MTV. “I liked it from the start, working with Nicki is just special anyway so and it was something she gave me and I felt good about it so we rocked with it.”

In the MTV video clip, Birdman and Wayne spoke as Minaj quietly listened, smiling with her arms folded. Lil Wayne spoke about Minaj as if she were not on set, and said he hoped nobody was actually mad after hearing the song.

“It’s just a figure of speech,” Wayne said. “I think Nick just sounded good saying mad at that point in the song. I don’t think it would’ve been cooler if she said, ‘That’s why you glad.’ We have to ask her next time I see her.”

Aside from Minaj appearing in the video, it was recently announced that she would co-host the American Music Awards with rapper Pitbull in November.
