Nicole Eggert is fighting a battle to lose her baby weight following the birth of her daughter 12 months ago, according to media reports.

Eggert, who is most famous for her role as Summer Quinn in the hit TV series "Baywatch" from 1992 to 1994, has reportedly been taking part in some marathon workout sessions in a battle to lose weight.

She has been unable to shift her significant weight gain since the birth of her child, and it now appears as though Eggert is putting all her efforts into getting back in shape.

Eggert has in fact struggled with her weight gain since starring in the hit TV program. She was featured on Celebrity Fit Club in 2010 in an effort to lose some weight, but she has continued to struggle since then.

Eggert's character on Baywatch was well known for starring alongside other stars Pamela Anderson and Alexandra Paul, as lifeguards saving lives of those in trouble at the beach. However, she has had to ensure fierce criticism over the years for her excessive weight gain, with many pointing out how bad for her health her condition is.

When Eggert was asked why she decided to go on the Celebrity Fit Club show, she said, "I was featured in some of the tabloid magazines as having gained weight and it was sort of an eye opening, horrid experience for me."

She added, "When the offer came through I felt like: A - It put a lot of pressure on me and, B - It would get me out of the house and get me working. A lot of my weight gain was being depressed and being home."

She has insisted that a trainer would remain part of her regime to help motivate and keep her mind off of the grueling exercise routines she would be taking part in.

"I'm going to continue to use a trainer because I think it's great motivation and a great distraction in the middle of a hard workout," she said. "I believe in [therapy] forever and always have, always will. The day you don't think you need to work on yourself is the day you should work on yourself harder."
