'NieR' News: Square Enix Sets Release Date for 'Gestalt & Replicant' and 'Automata' Vinyl Soundtracks
This week, Square Enix finally announced when the vinyl soundtrack collections for "NieR" fans will be released.
There will be two editions of the vinyl collection based on the music featured on the franchise titles, namely "NieR: Gestalt & Replicant" and "NieR: Automata."
"NieR: Gestalt" and "NieR: Replicant" are two action adventure video games released back in 2010. The developers released an indirect sequel to the titles, "NieR: Automata," which was launched earlier this year.
For this special soundtrack release, Square Enix combined the soundtrack from the "Gestalt" and "Replicant" titles into one vinyl record.
The "NieR: Gestalt & Replicant" vinyl soundtrack collection will feature 20 tracks while the "NieR: Automata" edition will have 15 songs chosen by composer Keiichi Okabe.
Meanwhile, fans will be thrilled to learn that the vinyl records' covers are "specially drawn by Sui Ishida, the creator of 'Tokyo Ghoul.'"
For avid "NieR" fans, they can purchase both soundtracks in a special edition called the Box Set. So, in total, the package will contain 35 tracks from the various "NieR" titles. Like the other selections, the Box Set also features an album cover by Ishida.
Both the "NieR: Automata" and "NieR: Gestalt & Replicant" soundtracks will cost $42.99 while the Box Set is priced $79.99.
Meanwhile, gamers and fans who will purchase the said vinyl soundtracks are advised that all items are shipped as imports from Japan. So, on top of the mentioned prices, buyers should expect duty fees and taxes to applied on their purchase.
Square Enix also warns customers that since the items are imported, the shipping of the materials might be delayed since it has to go through customs.
"Shipment may take longer if the parcel contains an import product and faces delays due to customs and duties. Also, please be aware of potential release date changes which shall be announced on the website," the developer added.
The items will be released on Dec. 31.
