Nikki Bella Confirms Taking Time Off From WWE
After getting to team up with her beau John Cena and getting a big diamond engagement ring from him, Nikki Bella definitely had a great weekend at WrestleMania 33. However, some fans are concerned as to how the marriage proposal would affect Bella's future in the WWE.
Cena proposed to Bella in front of their WWE fans on Saturday. While the unexpected marriage proposal left all 75,000 fans screaming for joy and their well-wishes, some fans are worried that the image of the two WWE fighters happily and lovingly hugging each other after the proposal might just be the last image of Bella in the ring.
Addressing concerns of fans about her future in the WWE, Bella confirmed via Twitter that she would be taking a hiatus, but not because of the proposal. According to Bella, she needs some time to heal following the re-aggravated neck injury that had caused her to undergo a major surgery in 2016.
"This isn't goodbye, just need time to heal. When the day is right I will be back and hopefully then... BRIE MODE will be ACTIVATED!" she posted.
While there has been talk that Bella is retiring for good, her tweet suggests that her time off will just be temporary and that she will be back as soon as her body recuperates.
Bella is not the only one to take some time off from the WWE, as her fiancé will also be on hiatus to film several movie projects. Aside from his big films that are coming out and need his promotion, Cena has also landed one of the starring roles in the upcoming comedy by Universal Pictures, "The Pact."
The Tickets & Events tab of the WWE website shows that Cena will be busy in the coming months, as the 16-time world champion is not advertised in the section until SummerSlam 2017.
WWE's power couple has yet to reveal the details of their wedding.
