Nina Dobrev and Esquire Cover Photos Show The Vampire Diaries Star in Comedy Role
Nina Dobrev has appeared in Esquire magazine to show that she has quite a sense of humor. The Vampire Diaries star features in Esquire's August 2012 issue, and the actress immediately caught fans' attention with her jokes in the "Me in My Place" feature.
The Esquire piece isn't her first attempt at comedy, and Dobrev was seen just this past week in a Funny or Die video that showed her rapping.
In her new efforts Dobrev tries to tell a joke about a grasshopper. She said, "A grasshopper walks into a bar. The bartender says, 'Hey, we have a drink named after you. The grasshopper says, 'You have a drink named Steve?"
Dobrev was originally a Canadian model, but found her place in acting through The Vampire Diaries, which has become a smash hit among teen audiences. In the TV series she plays dual characters as Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce.
The fourth season of the hit show is scheduled to begin in the U.S. this October, and will follow a similar storyline as Twilight, with Elena transitioning into becoming a vampire. In the Twilight movie series Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart, also becomes a vampire herself after the first few movies.
Dobrev is shown in the Esquire shoot relaxing in her bedroom while giving her "Me in My Place" exclusive.
The star previously spoke to The Examiner about her health and fitness regime, saying she doesn't like weights much as she does not want to "bulk up," but said, "I like to keep it all lean. I love yoga because it's very calming for your body and your spirit. It gives you that meditative state and its 90 minutes where you can get away from the world and just be, and exist in the moment." She added, "I need yoga. It's part of my life and I can't imagine not doing it. The hot yoga is great because you're sweating and kind of getting the cardio workout, your heart's racing, and then you're also stretching and building lean muscle because you're holding the positions for so long."
