Poochy Gets a Taste of the Limelight with the New Game and a new Amiibo
Yoshi's Woolly World is building up hype for its character Poochy as its Nintendo 3DS release draws near. Nintendo is also releasing merchandise to further promote the character.
Pooch and Yoshi Coming to the 3DS
Developed by Good-Feel and published by Nintendo in 2015 for the Wii U, Yoshi's Woolly World would be introduced to the 3DS platform on February. However, the game will not come to the new device as players remember it. It will be rebranded as "Poochy and Yoshi's Woolly World."

From the name alone, one can surmise that Nintendo will be putting a more emphasized take on the character of Poochy this time around. Poochy is a cute pup character that shows up in certain parts of the game to help Yoshi in its completion, complete with its Poochy pups posse. It was announced at today's Nintendo Direct presentation that the game will be released on February 3, 2017.
The gameplay of Poochy and Yoshi's Woolly World would still include all stages from the original Yoshi's Woolly World game. However, it will feature new stages that will put Poochy in the spotlight. Players can then seek the help of Poochy pups in certain levels to hunt for secrets around. There will also be stop motion animated shorts to be included in the upcoming game.
Yoshi's Woolly World Revisited
Yoshi's Woolly World is the seventh game installment in the Yoshi franchise, which began in 1997 with 'Yoshi's Story.' The game was originally released exclusively for the Wii U. It side-scroll platform game follows the main character Yoshi as he explores an island made of yarn. He tries to rescue his friends who were turned to woolly versions by an evil magician and must avoid being turned himself.
Poochy and Yoshi's Woolly World will most likely follow the same gameplay. New and exciting levels await the players as they explore the quirky and colorful world of Poochy and Yoshi and interact with characters that are just as adorable.
A New Adorable Amiibo
Along with the announcement of the new game, Nintendo also revealed a new amiibo merchandise—a yarn Poochy.

An amiibo is a figurine, toy, or accessory that can interact with the game. Pairing an amiibo with a certain game may give the players access to bonuses, power-ups, new levels, new outfits, special items, or even level up certain characters.
The yarn Poochy amiibo will be available on the same day as Poochy and Yoshi's Woolly World. It may be purchased separately or as part of a bundle. No pricing details are available yet for both the game and the amiibo.
