Nintendo NES Classic Edition: Mini Retro Console Coming Next Month, to Pack Classic Titles Including 'Pac-Man,' 'Super Mario' and More
Nostalgia is truly in the air at the Nintendo headquarters as the company is set to relaunch the classic NES gaming system in a miniaturized version.

While the hype for the Nintendo NES Classic Edition has grown to the fullest as its official release draws near, the Japanese tech company had just announced a somehow disappointing news. They said that only 30 games will be released for the console.

However, fans will be delighted to know that the minute gadget will look exactly the same as the original gaming system released in the '80s. the Nintendo NES Classic Edition will fit perfectly in a hand. It will also be equipped with an HDMI port, so connecting it to the television would not be a problem.
Games and Gaming Experience
The 30 pre-installed games include classic titles that will certainly bring back a lot of memories. The titles include (but are not limited to) the "Super Mario Bros." series, "The Legend of Zelda", "Donkey Kong", "Pac-Man", "Mega Man 2", "Castlevania", "Metroid", "Kirby's Adventure", and a whole lot more.
One unfortunate shortcoming of the Nintendo NES Classic Edition, however, is the onboard memory. This is where all of the 30 games are stored in default, which makes it impossible to add new ones. The old controllers from the classic console would not work as well, as multiplayer modes require the connection of a Wii Classic Controller or a Classic Controller Pro.
But, fans do not need to fear that the gaming experience will not be the same; Nintendo made sure that the games will be preserving the retro feel. The games in the NES Classic Edition could then be browsed by release date, title, or publisher. There is also an option to switch from the so-called pixel perfect mode to the regular 4:3 mode, giving the graphics a stretched look.
Old and New Tech
Fusing modern with old technology, the manuals for the Nintendo NES Classic Edition can be accessed by scanning a QR code with a smartphone. This is the only aspect of the console that actually requires the use of any new technology.
It is also delightful to see that the retro menu from the classic console will make it to the NES Classic Edition as well. The nostalgic gray controller will lack a home button, similar to the original console. This means that surfing in the menu and saving the game will entail the use of the Reset button.
The Nintendo NES Classic Edition will be available on November 11 (or as the official website puts it, 11/11). It will be available for $59.99, with the controllers sold separately for $9.99.
