Nintendo NX Release Date and News: Expert Shares Opinion on What Anticipated Console Should Feature
Coming next year is the new gaming console that Nintendo has been working on for the past few years, and according to a gaming analyst, there are some things the company should consider if they want to stay in the competition.
Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Patcher said there are two main things that Nintendo should take note of. First is to make sure that third-party developers will be in line with the plans for the console so Nintendo can be sure of all-out support before the expected launch.
In a video for Sifdt's Patcher Factor, the expert noted that publishers may be doubting if the NX will be a success after the apparent fall of the Wii and the Wii U. He specifically noted that Ubisoft is very much hesitant to get into talks with the Japanese gaming giant.
"I think they [publishers] got burned by the Wii, they were never good on the Wii. They got burned by the Wii U - especially Ubisoft. So, I think they are going to be very, very cautious," he said.
If no third-party developer decides to support the NX before its nearing release, it is only reasonable that Nintendo should start considering the factors affecting publishers' decisions such as game glitches and system issues.
The second key factor that might bring the NX to its doom, according to Patcher, is the tag price. Although there is no word from Nintendo as to how much the NX may be tagged, but according to Patcher, the best number is $299. This is so it will still be within the bounds of competition against the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
According to Express, Capcom and EA recently answered questions about the upcoming console and if they will support Nintendo's plans. Both companies didn't mention the NX and seemed to dodge the specific questions about developing games for the new console..
This could only mean that Patcher's speculations about the NX being "doomed" before it even launches could be true. On the other hand, a twist of fate may be rendered for Nintendo if it presents the mystery console to developers in its best state.
