'Xenoblade Chronicles X' Teaser Video Release Date Arrives: Nintendo Showcases New Game
Nintendo gives fans a glimpse of "Xenoblade Chronicles X" world with the release of its new trailer.
The clip revealed the vastness of the upcoming game, which will be coming out in Wii U. It also indicated the origin of the alien world Mira since a colony ship seemed to have crashed on the planet.
The trailer showcased various landscapes and terrains where the characters roamed and explored. The characters can be seen running over a hill, on a beach, on a dessert and even on the side of a lava filled lake. It also focused more on the humans' journey rather than the transforming mechs called Dolls.
Game director Tetsuya Takahashi revealed that Dolls are five times bigger than humans. The director added that "Xenoblade" world is vast to accommodate the Dolls but they have designed it so the players can still feel at ease while exploring the large environment.
The highlight of the game is that players can choose if they would prefer to fight low level or high level monsters. There are no restrictions in terms of exploring the open world. The freedom that the player can have is a unique feature of "Xenoblade."
Aside from the revelation of the new trailer, Nintendo also introduced new characters on its site. One of the characters is named Elma who is a previous colonel of the Doll squad. Elma is now the leader of BLADE, which is a private military organization. The character is described as "calm" and "composed."
Lynlee is a 13-year old member of BLADE and she is a mechanic. The character has mechanical engineering skills and is currently developing her own Doll. Lynlee is decribed as "cheerful," Siliconera reported.
Tatsu is a member of the Nopon race form the planet Mira. After the player meets Tatsu, he will be under his care. The innocent looking character is described as "pure" and a "little empty-headed."
"Xenoblade Chronicles X" will be released in Japan on April 29 and reports say the U.S. release is not far from the said date.
