Nintendo Switch News: 'Final Fantasy 14' Could Be Added, 'Dragon Quest Heroes' Too Big for Console

Fans who have been hoping to play "Final Fantasy 14" in the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch might just get what they want.

Square Enix has revealed that they are looking to bring the game to the next-generation console. Naoki Yoshida, who produced the "Final Fantasy" title in question, suggested one possibility this could happen.

According to The Sixth Axis, Yoshida said at the Fan Festival in Frankfurt that they want to bring "Final Fantasy 14" to as many platforms as they can, including the Nintendo Switch.

However, they want to make sure that these versions can interact with each other first. If that bit of the puzzle is settled, then "Final Fantasy 14" will likely make it to the Nintendo Switch.

There are tons of titles lined up for release in Nintendo's new console offering. The list includes the pair of "Dragon Quest Heroes" installments set to launch in Japan.

The downloadable version of the combo pack is so huge it will take up all of the storage space of the Nintendo Switch. This means that for players to experience it digitally, they would need a memory card.

The console supports microSDXC cards for storage expansion. Available on the market right now are 64 GB, 128 GB and 200 GB versions.

For now, the best option for gamers who want to play "Dragon Quest Heroes" and "Dragon Quest Heroes 2" is purchasing the boxed versions, which are not required to be installed on the game.

Those who plan to pack their Nintendo Switch with downloadable versions will have to invest on a microSDXC card either way. "Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wild" will take up 13.4 GB of the storage space.

Throwing in "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe," which is 7 GB, would mean players will room for two or three heavy games such as "Nobunaga's Ambition" at 5 GB and "Disgaea 5" for an additional 5.92 GB.

The Nintendo Switch will be available on March 3.
