Nintendo Switch News: Todd Howard 'Can't Say' Which Version of 'Skyrim' Will Be Released for the New Gaming Platform
'Skyrim' currently set to be released for the Nintendo Switch sometime during the fall season
The open world epic "Skyrim" was finally confirmed for the Nintendo Switch earlier this year, but there are still some important details not known about it just yet, including which version of the game may actually be made available.
During a recent interview with Polygon, director Todd Howard talked about the Switch and the Bethesda games that are set to be released for it.
Eventually, the topic of "Skyrim" for the Switch was brought up, but Howard didn't reveal much about this game, even adding that he "can't say" if the one that will be released is the original version of the role-playing game that was made available back in 2011 or if it will be the remastered version that made its way to stores last year.
Exactly why Howard can't reveal which version of "Skyrim" is coming remains unknown, though there may be some clues hinting at what fans may be getting.
An earlier article from Gearnuke compared different images of "Skyrim," including the original version of the game, the remastered edition and the one that is coming to the Nintendo Switch.
Interestingly enough, the comparison shows that the Switch version resembles the remastered game more than it does the one that was released in 2011.
So does that mean that the remastered version will be what is released for the Switch?
That remains a possibility at this point, but Bethesda opting not to confirm as much is quite curious. It is also possible that Bethesda may instead release a port of "Skyrim" that is tailor-made for the Switch.
The folks over at Bethesda are likely not going to stay silent with regards to this matter for that much longer, however, especially not with the game already due to be released sometime during the upcoming fall season.
More news about the Nintendo Switch version of "Skyrim" should be made available in the near future.
