Nintendo Switch Pricing and Specs: New Video Features Console's UI

Nintendo's highly anticipated hybrid console, the Switch, will be officially released in two weeks. Pre-orders are already open in various retailers, with prices fluctuating from merchant to merchant.

One of the most well-known retailers in the United States, GameStop, has listed the standard Nintendo Switch for $299.99. Customers can choose between a Nintendo Switch with Gray Joy-Con or a Nintendo Switch with Neon Blue and Neon Red Joy-Con. The online retailer offers a variety of bundles, with prices ranging from $437.99 to over $600.

While Nintendo has not yet released the full specifications of their upcoming hybrid console, a new leak may have just done the job for them. A video of the Nintendo Switch has been uploaded to YouTube, and it features an exclusive first look at the user interface of the console.

The video outlines the user creation process that comes with the new console. It sees the user creating a name and choosing an icon from a range of Nintendo-themed pictures.

The first look at the Nintendo Switch's user interface was apparently the result of an error by a retailer, which shipped the console earlier than scheduled to NeoGAF user hiphoptherobot. The user refused to name which retailer it was.

The video also reveals that the Nintendo Switch only has 25.9 GB of internal storage, even though Nintendo has said that it will have 32 GB. The hybrid console's storage has sparked quite a debate because of its incredibly low amount, especially when compared to the current consoles in the market. However, Nintendo has said that the memory is expandable, with microSD cards - both standard and Nintendo-branded - compatible with the Switch. It has been pointed out, though, that the Nintendo-branded memory cards are more expensive than even the higher-end ones found on retailers like Amazon.

The Nintendo Switch will hit the market on March 3.
