Nintendo Switch Problems: Consoles Warping When Used on Docked Mode for Long Periods?

Previously, one Reddit user shared how his Nintendo Switch had drastically warped, and now, more users are showing photos of their consoles to prove they are experiencing the same issue.

Earlier this week, Reddit user _NSR shared a photo of his Nintendo Switch console. In the image provided, it can be seen that the console has warped or has bent instead of its supposedly flat form.

_NSR can only think of one likely reason which could have caused the problem – playing on docked mode for most of the time.

The Nintendo Switch is a distinct type of console because it can be used in gamers' living rooms, on its dock and connected to a TV set. Once the console is removed from the docket, the display automatically transfers to the console's own screen so players can continue their game on-the-go.

However, _NSR suspects that using the Nintendo Switch on its dock and obliging it to produce a much larger display when connected to a TV might be causing the problem.

The Reddit user explained, "I'm wondering if it being docked is the problem though, most of my time has been on the dock, and it has to work harder to output to a larger screen." He added, "Luckily it hasn't affected the way that it plays, the lack of disc drive is definitely a good thing here."

Shortly after the Reddit post was picked up by news outlets, other users shared what their Nintendo Switch units are starting to look like. Some of them use rulers to show that the console is not totally flat anymore while another even said that the gaming device can now spin smoothly on the table because of the warping.

According to reports, another Nintendo Switch owner who had a warping console had already contacted Nintendo about the issue. This certain console owner narrated: "I called Nintendo and got a repair set up in like 10 minutes. I got a prepaid label for overnight shipping. Once they get it it takes a few days to process and repair." If the sent back unit is irreparable, "[Nintendo] they will transfer my data over to a new unit and send that back." Nintendo reportedly promised to process the matter in six to eight business days.
