It is important to note that the content to expect in this "Splatoon 2" online beta for the Nintendo Switch is the same as what Nintendo showcases during the preview tour for the sequel.

By the time the global testfire takes place, the Nintendo Switch is already three weeks into its launch. For the uninitiated, the next-generation console is set for release on March 3.

"Splatoon 2" will not be one of the launch titles as it will only arrive summer, but Nintendo has a lot lined up for release on the very same day the Switch sees the light of day.

This includes "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," "Just Dance 2017," "Super Bomberman R" and "I Am Setsuna," among others.
