'Nintendo vs. Capcom' Is Something 'Street Fighter' Boss Would Love to See

Fans who wish to see Capcom characters battle it out with Nintendo characters are not alone. "Street Fighter" Producer Yoshinori Ono revealed recently that he would love to see a "Nintendo vs. Capcom" game.

StreetPass UK caught up with Ono at a recent "Street Fighter V" event. The interview (see video below) talked about fighting crossovers and Ono revealed he would love to see "Street Fighter's" Zangief and Blanka in "Super Smash Bros." Ryu is already in the game as a DLC. He became available to "Super Smash Bros.," along with the Suzaku Castle stage, in June 2015 much to the surprise and delight of gamers. Ryu has gone on to become a popular character in the game.

The Capcom producer was also asked which Nintendo characters he would like to see added to "Street Fighter." This time, Ono said he'd rather see an entire game made, that is "Nintendo vs. Capcom," explaining getting a character from one series to another takes a lot of work.

"I think it takes a lot of work to get a character from a different series working in another one, so you know Mr. Sakurai did a lot of work getting, for example, Ryu to fit in with the Super Smash Bros. characters," Ono told StreetPass UK. "I almost wouldn't want to pick one and just go with just Street Fighter, I'd rather see something like Nintendo vs. Capcom be made as it make it specifically designed for those characters to work well."

It's the same idea behind the popular "Nintendo vs. Marvel" and many other "versus" titles from the company. The license for "Nintendo vs. Marvel" has already expired, which led GameRant to suggest that a "Nintendo vs. Capcom" could replace the gaping hole left by the title. Destructoid speculates further that "Nintendo vs. Capcom" could possibly come to the upcoming Nintendo NX.
