Nintendo Wii U to Demo Pikmin 3 at Comic Con Before July 26 Release Date
Nintendo Wii U will be unveiling the long awaited Pikmin 3 to gamers in the U.K in the next two weeks and has announced it will hit U.S. shelves on August 3.
The game will be available for demo at the MCM Expo at the Manchester Comic Con event July 20 and 21.
Pikmin 3 will launch in the UK on July 26, and on July 27 Nintendo will be holding an event in London at the South bank Observation Point to celebrate the release.
The Wii U exclusive is a followup to the first two games on their Gamecube system with the second game released in 2004. The series created by famed Nintendo game creator, Shigeru Miyamoto, gained a cult following and even re-released the second game for the Wii.
The game focuses around a tiny little man from space named Captain Olimar who appears to be in a microscopic world which resembles someone's garden or backyard.
Olimar encounters little plant like creatures who begin to follow him around and obey his every command. These characters are called Pikmin, and they come in different colors and have different abilities.
The game is a real time strategy that engages players by continuously updating and changing scenarios for the player. All the controls and decisions fall into the the person playing the game's hands and depending on what route they take, that is how the game plays.
Pikmin is coming back after a considerably long time for a series, and even skipped over one generation of console, which has its pros and cons. The positive is that Pikmin will now have a new generation of gamers to pull in, with the negative being the franchise may have lost some key people over the length of time.
