Hello Games Pushed Back the 'No Man's Sky' Release Date to Add Improvements

"No Man's Sky" game director Sean Murray wrote a positive update about the upcoming open-world survival game. He and his Hello Games team decided to delay the release of the game in favor of improving the game according to their standards.

'No Man's Sky' Progress and Development

On the game's official website, Murray explained that he and his team are doing their best to meet the expectations of fans and gamers. He stated that in their deliberation before making the decision to delay the release, fans would be disappointed. However, the team has received countless support and he feels that the right decision was made as they only have "one shot" and they "can't mess it up."

The progress of "No Man's Sky" is apparently "genuinely going well." Murray praised his fellow developers at Hello Games and called them the "hardest working and talented" team that he's worked together with.

Murray also shared that the new release date will be on Aug. 9 for North American and Aug. 10 for Europe. Originally, "No Man's Sky" was supposed to be released this week for PC and PS4.

'No Man's Sky' No Show on E3 2016

Many were wondering why Hello Games and "No Man's Sky" weren't present at the E3 2016. One fan took his question to Murray himself by asking him directly through Twitter.

The fan was understandably afraid that the game's non-appearance at the convention could mean trouble. Murray replied and explained that skipping E3 was so he and his team could make more progress to "No Man Sky" instead of hyping it.

Pre-order of the game for PlayStation 4 is available through the PlayStation Network. The PC version can be pre-ordered through Steam, GOG.com and Humble. "No Man's Sky" is priced at $60.

Game Delay Worth It?

"No Man's Sky" is touted to be a science fiction game with an open-world feel, where players can explore but survive. With the months and months of delay and with the stretched patience of gamers and players, do you think the game is worth the hype and waiting for? What are you most looking forward in the game?
