No One Showed Up: Viral Photo of Teen Celebrating Birthday Party Alone is Heartbreaking
The heartbreaking photo of a teen from Maine seen celebrating her birthday alone has gone viral, ladies and gentlemen. As of 7:00 a.m. Friday morning, the photo garnered more than 120,000 shares.
Posted by the teen's cousin, Rebecca Prefontaine, the photo depicts how no one showed up for Hallee Sorensen's 18th birthday party last year.
"She had been so excited to have a party with her friends," Prefontaine wrote in the Facebook post. "She wanted to go bowling, have fun, and eat cake and Ice Cream. Invitations went out to her classmates at school and to other friends in the area. Hallee sat at her party anxiously waiting for her friends to arrive so they could have fun....but Hallee's friends would never arrive."

Prefontaine posted the photo and shared the story on social media in hopes of spreading the word and gaining support from the community so that her dear cousin would spend a better 19th birthday this coming July.
"But you can help make this years birthday incredible!! I would love to flood her mailbox with birthday cards, from all over! Hal loves getting mail- this would be the best birthday gift she could ask for," she wrote in the post.
