Nokia 9 Specs, Release Date: New Renders Reveal Protruding Camera and More

The Nokia 9 is the next device HMD Global is expected to unveil. While the company is mum about the highly anticipated handset, tech leaksters and insiders have been hard at work trying to paint a picture of the flagship.

This is exactly what Compare Raja and OnLeaks did, providing users a better look at the handset with a bunch of new renders showing the device on all angles.

The Nokia 9 on the renders features a much thinner build at 7.5 mm compared with that of the Nokia 8's 7.9 mm. Its protruding dual camera setup arranged vertically, however, brings the thickness to 8.9 mm.

The Nokia 8, while it boasted a pair of cameras on the back, did not have a hump. Many users are usually irked by a camera bulge so it will be interesting to see how this can affect the Nokia 9.

Thankfully for those who are not fans of the camera design, the handset will compromise with its curved body and purported bezel-less front, something that the Nokia 8 did not have.

The Nokia 9 will apparently sport a tall 5.5-inch 18:9 display, which is the aspect ratio that is being used in more and more flagships of late. The fingerprint sensor was relocated to the back for this reason.

The Nokia 8 missed out on this and had thick bezels that made it look outdated next to handsets like the Samsung Galaxy S8, but it appears that HMD Global is rectifying that with their next offering.

More on the Nokia 9's screen, it will allegedly be active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) with a Quad high-definition (HD) resolution, which should look all the sleeker without bezels.

While users have been hearing a lot about the Nokia 9, there is no word at the moment yet when it will actually see the light of day. GSM Arena, however, believes that when it finally does, it will come with a €750 price tag.
