Nokia Lumia 1020 vs. Lumia 930 Review: Specs and Price Comparison
It is important to note that the Lumia 1020 was released a year before the 930, meaning some features apparently are more advanced in the 930 than with the 1020.
First off, the screen size. The Lumia 1020 sports a 4.5-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1280 x 768. The Lumia 930 on the other hand has a 5.0-inch AMOLED screen with a full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution. The full HD resolution of the 930 along with its bigger screen is a plus against the 1020.
When it comes to the internals, the 1020 is run by a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon dual-core 1.5GHz processor. It's old by today's smartphone standards but it gets the job done. The 930 is more powerful with its Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core 2.2GHz Krait 400 processor.
The graphics card for the 930 is also more powerful, with an Adreno 330 graphics processor over the 1020's Adreno 225. The 1020 and the 930 both have 32GB of internal memory as well as 2GB worth of RAM. A number of phones in the market are more powerful than the two Nokia phones but with the limited availability of apps for the Windows platform, 2GB RAM is enough.
A disadvantage for both these phones though is that neither have any memory card slots, meaning it is incapable of supporting microSD cards. Users will only be stuck with the 32GB internal memory.
The main selling point of the 1020 however is its 41-megapixel camera. Currently, it is the most powerful mobile phone camera in the market. The 930 does not share the same camera instead having a 20-megapixel snapper.
The Lumia 930 is more expensive than the 1020. The 930 has a market price of $680 based on GSM Arena while the 1020 sells for $400. The 930 might have more value for money since it is a more recent release but the 1020's 41-megapixel camera is a hard selling point and is hard to pass up. Then again the 930 is only a step-up from the 1020 in terms of screen size and processor speed.
