Nokia Lumia 928 Unveiled, Release Date Set for May 16
Nokia finally unveiled the long awaited Lumia 928 smartphone this week and announced its official release date on Verizon for May 16.
The Windows Phone will be a Verizon exclusive that runs on its 4G LTE network. It comes in both black and white and will cost $99.99 with a new two-year contract after a $50 mail-in rebate. New owners will receive a $25 credit for Windows Phone app purchases.
The Nokia Lumia 928 features an 8.7-megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization and Xenon flash for still photos. The device will also come with a 4.5-inch OLED display protected by Gorilla Glass, built-in wireless charging capabilities, and three high-audio-amplitude-capture microphones that can record audio up to 140db with distortion-free clarity.
The software and services on the Nokia Lumia 928 are also expected to be unique and impressive. The HERE Suite will bring intuitive location services that ensure users that they will never get lost while the smartphone is by their side. HERE Maps, HERE Drive+ and HERE City Lens are three aspects of the app that will assist Lumia 928 users to arrive at their destination successfully.
The Nokia Music feature provides users with an unlimited streaming of free music playlists that can even be accessed while the phone is offline.
The Windows Phone store includes 145,000 apps, which makes the Lumia line a bit more appealing. The device also runs Internet Explorer 10, which is allows users to browse the internet quickly and safely.
