Nokia Lumia 930 Specs and Review: Best Windows Smartphone So Far
Nokia's latest flagship phone, the Lumia 930, is currently the best-built Windows phone out there. It was released earlier this year and received good reviews. It still is far off from being the no. 1 phone on the market, running behind the Android and iOS phones.
Looking at the features of the 930, it sports a 5.0-inch screen with a full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution. The touch screen is an AMOLED capacitive screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The body is made of both a polycarbonate backing and a glass front, separated by an aluminum band. The back and front faces taper into the aluminum frame giving it a smooth profile.
The phone is run by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core 2.2GHz Krait 400 processor and an Adreno 330 graphics chip. The 930 has a fast processing speed and rarely slows down. It also has 32GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM. The storage cannot be extended by a microSD card however, as the 930 does not have an SD card slot.
It runs on the latest version of Windows 8.1 including the ClearBlack display feature designed to increase the contrast between the background and the Windows app tiles.
The 930 can be bought for around $800 and is fairly priced for its specs and features. As with all Nokia products, the phone's build is sturdy and rigid and can survive the rare drop to the floor without any significant damage.
Though the Windows phone market suffers from less apps than either Apple or Android operating systems, it is still growing and Nokia seems to have a firm grasp on it.
