Non-Talking Alzheimer's Patient Hears 'Jesus Loves Me' and Something Amazing Happens (VIDEO)
When Alzheimer's disease reaches its advanced stage, the patient progressively loses the ability to speak. First, language is reduced to simple phrases, and then single words. Finally, the patient can no longer talk. However, memories remain, and they hold an inexplicable power in even the deteriorating brain.
In this YouTube video uploaded last February, Alzheimer's patient Mabel Cannon is in the advanced stage of the disease. She wasn't communicating at all that given day. But when her son sings "Jesus Loves Me," a lock in her mind opens and she begins to sing along. She would die two weeks later.
SHARE this video, what uploader Linda Cannon describes as a "beautiful testament to what does stay with a person, even when it seems they don't remember anything."
