Nothing new about promo of "South Park" Season 19 – Series renewed until Season 23, runs to 2019.
"South Park" Season 19 will return in just days and the promos of the upcoming season have very little to tell viewers about what Season 19 will be about. The trailers have very little footage from Season 19 and more footage, it seems, from past episodes. The not-so-fresh promos are being aired by South Park Studios and Hulu. "South Park" Season 19 returns on September 16th.
Way back, Cartoon Brew had come up with an article on how the producers of the show are really hard up for time. They commented that the production schedules are "insane." The site also says, "the crunched production timing of the show implies that none of the trailers have a true footage to enjoy." The same story seems to be repeating itself as the creators have not let on as to what the episode premiere will be about, even though the premiere date - September 16th - is only a few days away.
Fans and avid watchers know that a season of "South Park" focuses on a topical and running theme. This theme that will be touched upon is researched and analyzed by South Park Studio. The team has its own ideas as to what part of American life should be focused on in the particular season.
The other big news is that Comedy Central renewed South Park up to Season 23. That means the show will go on until 2019. That amounts to a whopping 300 episodes which will make "South Park" one of the longest-running scripted, primetime series in cable TV history.
In a statement, Viacom president Doug Herzog says of the renewal, "Nearly two decades later, South Park today remains as important and influential as any series on any platform and has become one of the most recognizable brands to ever come out of television."
Once the episodes of "South Park" Season 19 premieres on Comedy Central, they can also be accessed on Hulu and South Park Studios.
