'Now You See Me 2' News: Daniel Radcliffe Joins the Cast, Plot Revealed

The plot and cast for the sequel to "Now You See Me" has been revealed, and it's been confirmed that a 'Harry Potter' alum will be joining the cast— specifically, Harry Potter himself. Actor Daniel Radcliffe has been cast in 'Now You See Me 2', the sequel to a group of talented magicians who pull off incredible heists.

Since the last "Harry Potter" film was released in 2011, Radcliffe has done a lot as he took on roles that are a far cry from the boy wizard. He started his departure from the beloved character when he took on the role of Arthur Kipps in the 2012 horror movie "The Woman in Black," then followed that up with edgy roles in 2013's "Kill Your Darlings" and "Horns."

For "Now You See Me 2," Radcliffe could be taking the role of antagonist to the four magicians. According to Screenrant, the actor will be playing the role of Walter Tressler, the son of Michael Caine's character.

Aside from Radcliffe, other new characters will also be featured in the sequel. It has been reported that "Masters of Sex" star Lizzy Caplan will be playing the new female lead character, as Isla Fisher will not be back to reprise her role. Caplan's character is called Lula, and it's very likely that she will take Fisher's place in the quartet of magicians. Also, "The Green Hornet" actor Jay Chou will be joining the cast as Li.

Here is the official synopsis of "Now You See Me 2":

"One year after outwitting the FBI and winning the public's adulation with their mind-bending spectacles, the Four Horsemen resurface in 'Now You See Me 2' only to find themselves face to face with a new enemy who enlists them to pull off their most dangerous heist yet," the synopsis reads.

"Now You See Me 2" will premiere on June 10, 2016.
