Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti News: GPU Arriving Next Week, Promises 'Extreme Gaming Horsepower'
Nvidia finally showed the world its next graphics card called the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti that promises better gaming performance and is slated to arrive in stores next week.
While most technology enthusiasts have their eyes on Barcelona, Spain for the Mobile World Congress event, another big technology affair is happening in California known as the Game Developers Conference where Nvidia announced their "fastest gaming [Graphics Processing Unit] ever]," according to BGR.
The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti has been in the rumor mill for several months. Luckily, Nvidia decided it was time to launch the newest Pascal-based GPU and guaranteed it is "packed with extreme gaming horsepower," as viewed on Nvidia's official website.
Nvidia promises that the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is going to have "the world's most advanced GPU architecture." The Santa Clara, California-based technology company also guarantees that their next flagship graphics card will deliver faster performance by up to three times than the usual. Apparently, the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti was also designed to bring in smooth virtual reality support.
As for its specs, the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti comes with frame buffer capacity of 11 GB GDDR5X. The upcoming GPU also comes with 11 GB per second memory speed which is way faster than the 7 GB per second performance of its predecessor, the GeForce GTX 980 Ti. In terms of boost clock speed, the incoming graphics card can execute as much as 1,582 megahertz (MHz). Other specs include 3,584 CUDA Cores and 484 GB per second memory bandwidth.
Aside from VR, GeForce GTX 1080 Ti also supports simultaneous multi-projection, Nvidia's Ansel technology that promises a "revolutionary new way to capture in-game shots and view in 360," Vulkan application program interface (API), and more. The newest Pascal-based Nvidia GPU can support as much as 7,680 x 4,320 at 60 hertz digital resolution.
The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GPU will hit the shelves on Friday, March 10 with the price tag of $699 but pre-orders will be accepted starting March 2.
