NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti Release Date, News and Update: NVIDIA Might Launch Card at Game Developers Conference in March

After the launch of Pascal, gaming enthusiasts have started looking forward to the release of NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. Recent reports suggest that the card is well on its way and may be out by next month.

Previous rumors claimed that the highly anticipated Ti variant would be launched at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January. However, fans were disappointed when the launch did not happen at the event. Following the missed launch, rumors that NVIDIA might not launch the card altogether made rounds online. However, a recent report suggests that the GeForce GTX 1080 will finally be launched in March.

According to Hot Hardware, Swedish-language website Nordic Hardware heard straight from NVIDIA that the card will be released in late March, most likely between the 20th and 23rd. Since the card developer has not made any official announcement yet about the launch date, there are speculations that NVIDIA will consider the Game Developers Conference (GDC) to formally unveil the new card. As for its memory, rumor has it that the upcoming Ti variant will end up with GDDR5X memory.

If the rumors are true, then the launch will be just in time for AMD's talk about Vega, which will also happen at GDC. Some also speculate that if the rumors about the GDC launch are not true, the launch may happen at PAX East, another trade event that is set to take place sometime in the second week of March.

Once it is released, the much awaited Ti variant is expected to compete directly with existing Pascal cards. While it will be made available through third-party retailers at inflated costs, NVIDIA will still directly sell it on its website at a lower price. It is reportedly going to hit the market at a price range of $750 to $900.
