Oakland Athletics vs Detroit Tigers Live Stream: Watch Online MLB Playoffs 2012 (6PM ET)

Oakland Athletics vs Detroit Tigers kicks off the 2012 MLB Playoffs Saturday evening at 6 p.m. The game will be shown on TV on TBS, but can also be watched online through live stream (details below).

The Tigers claimed the American League Central title on Monday, and with the New York Yankees winning the AL East, and Oakland Athletics the AL West on the final day of the regular season, the Tigers were handed a draw against the Athletics in the AL Division Series.

Detroit overcame the odds coming into the final straight of the regular season; they overturned a three game deficit with 15 games remaining to make the playoffs for the second consecutive season. It is the first time in the Tigers' history that they have won the division title in consecutive seasons.

The Athletics also did not look likely to make the playoffs at one point, but they too made an astonishing comeback to be here today. Oakland were nine games back of the Texas Rangers in early June but managed to turn things their way. At early June they were nine games under .500, but by late July they were nine games over .500 and in a second-place tie with the Angels and just five games behind the Rangers.

They were undefeated in the last week of the season and managed to beat the Rangers in Game 162 to win the AL West.

Tonight's game between the Athletics and Tigers starts at 6 p.m. and can be watched on TBS. However, MLB.com and TBS are both offering packages to watch the MLB Playoffs online.

On MLB.tv a postseason package is available for just $24.99, and that includes live streaming, HD quality video, in-game stats and highlights and more. Sign up by clicking here.

TBS is also offering coverage through MLB.com on "TBS Hot Corner."

MLB.com has described:

"This year's media player allows fans more interactivity as they'll be able to choose between a Backstop Cam, Pitcher Cam, Dugout Cam and Batter Cam.

"With this year's Live Game Streaming application, fans will have the option to switch between live games, interact with other fans around the country in live chat rooms and vote in live polls. An on-site reporter will bring fans live reports and exclusive interviews throughout the game as well.

"The Hot Corner also offers exclusive on-demand postseason content featuring on-field postgame reactions from players and managers, sit-down player interviews, original postseason-themed music videos featuring rock 'n' roll legends Bon Jovi and a behind-the-scenes look into players' pregame and off-day routines."
