Cordarrelle Patterson Tries to Recruit Adrian Peterson to Oakland
The Adrian Peterson era in Minnesota ended when the Vikings signed former Oakland Raiders running back Latavius Murray last week. Now, how interesting would things get if Peterson ends up playing with Murray's former team this season?
The Raiders are currently looking for a running back on the free-agent market and Peterson happens to be available, so it's possible. His former Vikings' teammate Cordarrelle Patterson seems to like the idea as well and he's trying to convince Peterson to join the Raiders.
The Raiders are reportedly trying to lure running back Marshawn Lynch out of retirement, but they will have to give up assets to acquire him in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks. Peterson is actually the cheaper option right now and he should fit quite well with the team.

While it's sad to see a player like Peterson leave the only team he has ever played for, it's way past time for him to pack up and get ready for the next chapter of his storied National Football League (NFL) career.
A lot of people actually saw this coming. In an interview with St. Paul Pioneer Press' Chris Tomasson, former Vikings wide receiver Cris Carter said he wasn't really surprised when the Vikings decided not to bring Peterson back.
"I didn't think (Peterson) would finish his career with the Vikings. If you look at the number of times he's been injured the last couple of years and then also the price, what's going to be your price point? Eventually, everybody has an expiration date, including Adrian. I think the Vikings have gone about it the right way. ... I'm sure Adrian wanted to play for something significant (in salary)," Carter stated during the interview.
But he believes that Peterson still has a lot left in the tank and should continue to play. The running back didn't really play much last season due to the meniscus tear in his right knee, but he should be a solid contributor if he can get back in game shape.
