Oakland Raiders: Marshawn Lynch Reportedly Told Raiders He Will Come Out of Retirement

Seeing Marshawn Lynch play for the Oakland Raiders may seem like a pipe dream weeks ago, but now it has taken a step closer to reality.

Barstool Sports' Pat McAfee was the first to report that the Seattle Seahawks have given Lynch permission to meet with the Raiders and he was spotted at their practice facility on Wednesday. ESPN's Adam Schefter also reported the same and he said a deal would eventually happen.

According to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, the meeting with Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio was the "final hurdle" for Lynch. Rapoport also said that Lynch told the Raiders he would come out of retirement. However, he added that it would be a long process.

Looks like things are moving along rather well and many believe that it's going to be only a matter of time before Lynch joins the Raiders.

"At this point in the process, it would be hard to see the Lynch-to-Oakland train slowing down. For the Raiders to request permission and set up a meeting in Del Rio's office, it means they are likely quite far along in the process," NFL.com's Conor Orr said in his report.

"Lynch would be the perfect ambassador for the Raiders as they shift from Oakland to Las Vegas and could serve as an ideal mentor to a young running back corps led by 2016 fifth-round pick DeAndre Washington," he continued.

Right now, the Seahawks still hold Lynch's playing rights and the Raiders will have to acquire him through trade if he isn't released. Well, at least Seahawks general manager John Schneider thinks that discussions will go smoothly due to his relationship with Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie. The two used to work with the Green Bay Packers.

The Seahawks and Raiders will have to work something out so Lynch can play for his hometown team next season.
