Obama 'Get Lucky' Dub Goes Viral; President Sings Song of the Summer (VIDEO)
Obama's "Get Lucky" cover, a Presidential mish-mash of speeches and other speaking engagements to the tune of the popular electronic-funk song, has gone viral, gaining over 2 million hits in the few days since it's been posted. The owner, Baracksdubs, tapped into one of the most popular songs of the summer to create the hit.
The Obama "Get Lucky" cover features the President's talks manipulated to sing along to Daft Punk and Pharrell's infectious lyrics for about 90 seconds— apparently the perfect amount of time to enjoy Barack dancing around in slow motion without getting annoyed. The creator, Fadi Saleh, a student at the University of Tennesee, says his fine-tuned formula is fairly simple.
"I make Obama sing s---," he told Yahoo! Music.

He also crowdsources his ideas using the Twitter handle @Baracksdubs. "Tweet 'Hey @Baracksdubs, #Obama should sing …'" he encourages users, reminding him that he absolutely will not do Gangnam Style.
The crowdsourcing has led to predictable results, such as the most popular of the dubs to date— Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" done last summer, which topped out at 38 million hits. Similarly, LMFAO's "Sexy and I Know It" got 20,610,000 views a few months earlier at the height of its popularity.
Saleh may have hit a goldmine with his latest dub of the Daft Punk's "Get Lucky." At no. 2 on the Billboard charts, it is fast becoming the song of the summer, and could even top Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines," which has been mired in controversy recently for its suggestive lyrics.
Others are covering "Get Lucky" too from classically trained musicians CDZA and their piano rendition to French artist PV NOVA, who took the song through decades of musical transformation.
Baracksdubs has covered a variety of songs from MC Hammer's "Can't Touch This" to the much-memorized first "Pokemon" cartoon theme song. Each video has had hundreds of thousands to millions of hits, and another one should be out in about two weeks.
