Obama Lipstick on Collar: 'I Don't Want to Be in Trouble With Michelle,' President Jokes (VIDEO, PHOTO)
President Barack Obama has had to explain lipstick on his collar as he turned up at a White House event on Tuesday evening.
Obama turned up at a reception for Asian-American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with a smear of red lipstick on his collar.
"I have to say I think I know the culprit," Obama said. "Where is Jessica Sanchez?"
He added, "It wasn't Jessica -- it was her aunt ... Where is she? ... Auntie! right there!
"Look at this!" Obama said, pointing to the lipstick on her collar. "Look at this!"
The president then explained why he was making such a public display, joking: "I just want everybody to witness -- I do not want to be in trouble with Michelle. That's why I'm calling you out right in front of everybody."
The comical news comes just days after Obama offered words of comfort to victims of the recent Oklahoma tornado. Obama toured the hit region of Moore on Sunday and urged all Americans to "step up" their own aid to help the affected people in recognition that "we're an instrument of his [God's] will."
Obama reminded the people of Oklahoma, "Everywhere, fellow Americans are praying with you, they're thinking about you, and they want to help... And so I'm just a messenger here today, letting everybody here know that you are not alone, that you've got folks behind you."
Obama also praised churches and community groups for "incredible outpourings of support," according to a press release by the White House.
"I want to urge every American to step up. If I've got one message for folks here today: Go online, donate to the American Red Cross…," Obama said, and recalled a story "that really struck me in the press."
It was about a Bible, open to Isaiah 32:2, that was found in the rubble. The verse read, "A man will be as a hiding place from the wind, and a cover from the tempest."
