Obama's Use of 'ISIL' is 'Anti-Israel,' Outlets Say
The Islamic State, or ISIS as referred to largely by the media, has become one of the biggest hindrances to development goals for Iraq, Syria, and other neighboring towns. As they continue to claim responsibility over bombings and killings, the rage only gets much more intense.
In a world where most people only rely on the media as the main source of knowledge about current issues and global progression, it is only reasonable that the masses start to question the use of different acronyms by some big shot individuals or entities.
One of the more common questions to date regarding the ISIS is: "Why does Barack Obama continue to use the term 'ISIL' instead of 'ISIS' as it is the more commonly used acronym for the terrorists?"
Some outlets have attempted to answer the question, and according to these outlets, the reason behind is that the U.S. President wants to deliver a clear message to not just the terrorists but to God's "chosen people."
ISIL stands for "The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant," and according to Q Political, the "Levant" is a region in the Middle East that comprises multiple nations. "It's a land bridge between Turkey to the north and Egypt to the south," the outlet says, adding that almost in the middle of the said nations lies none other than the nation that God promised to keep and prosper, Israel.
The outlet then concludes that "When Obama says 'ISIL' he is saying to the muslim world, 'I do not recognize Israel as an independent nation.'"
Another outlet, Now the End Begins, in a post last year, further explains that Obama's use of the term "ISIL" is his personal message to the Middle Easterners that he thinks Israel belongs to the Islamic State, instead of an independent and sovereign nation just like the United States.
The Christian blog goes on to explore the in-depth reasons as to why Obama continues to use his preferred term. Obama's plan, according to the outlet, is to give the terrorists as much time as they can to accumulate weaponry and finances to reach the ultimate goal, which is "the destruction of Israel."
Both outlets provided a reference to their claims — a speech he delivered in 2014 wherein he used the term multiple times, spelling each of the letters of the acronym.
Meanwhile, a more objective account from Ted Rall of A New Domain suggests that Obama is merely resorting to the "childish" method of letting the extremists know of his hate for them, and what other way to deliver this message than to refuse to call them by the name they call themselves?
Until the U.S. President himself gives his official statement about the issue, the world can only speculate for now.
