OBB Set for Big Year in Christian Music After Winter Jam 2013
Winter Jam 2013 produced many spectacular moments, but perhaps none greater than pop/rock sibling trio OBB as they wowed the crowd with their performances.
Signed to Curb records, the brothers will have a number of "high-profile" appearances around the country and are set to debut on national radio with their single "Come On Home" next month, a press release from the group said.
Winter Jam was the No. 1 tour of the first quarter of 2013, and OBB got to enjoy that statistic as they played to around 500,000 people according to the press release.
"With a major label deal, top-notch production, and a radio-friendly sound, Atlanta-based trio OBB seems to be positioning itself as a fresh face to watch within the world of Christian music," Crosswalk.com said.
Their self-titled EP took the No. 23 spot on Billboard's HeatSeekers chart in January.
OBB, short for Oswald Brothers Band, is comprised of 22-year-old Zach on lead vocals and guitar, 20-year-old Jacob on lead guitar and 18-year-old Nich on drums. They are from Atlanta, Ga. and were first discovered on "Singing Family Face-Off" on CBS in 2009.
The band will be sharing the stage with big Christian acts such as Switchfoot, Lecrae, Chris Tomlin, and Casting Crowns, and will be performing at Fanzone and Rock the Universe.
Their EP has been heralded as a pretty good first effort allowing these young musicians to grow.
"OBB's debut is a modest effort. It's nothing overly stellar or exciting, but it does what it's supposed to do very well, which is to appeal to the masses of CCM fans and Christian Radio. OBB definitely has potential, and hopefully we will see them take more musical and lyrical risks on their next project," said JesusFreakHideout.com.
