Octomom, Dad Both in Rehab: Nadya Suleman and Father Tackling Substance and Alcohol Issues?
Nadya Suleman has allegedly checked herself into rehab for substance abuse, and reports have claimed that her father has also joined her by checking into the same clinic.
After admitting the she had become addicted to Xanax, Nadya Suleman checked herself into the Chapman House Drug Rehabilitation Center in Southern California last weekend, according to TMZ.
The Octomom allegedly said that she was tired of taking prescription medicines in order to deal with the stress and anxiety in her life.
"Nadya wanted to get off the Xanax she was prescribed by her doctor and learn to deal with her stress, exhaustion and anxiety with professional help with a team of doctors," a rep for Suleman told TMZ.
However, Suleman will now have company. Allegedly inspired by his daughter's attempt to get her act together, Ed Doud has now also checked himself into the same rehab facility for alcohol dependency, according to TMZ.
The 71 year-old father to Suleman checked in on Wednesday, according to TMZ, which has reported that he has struggled with alcohol issues for years.
In August, Suleman's father expressed concern over the fact that Suleman had started to get a drinking habit, TMZ has reported.
"Sometimes she starts drinking vodka, whatever, so maybe she should not be driving," he allegedly said in a voicemail to a woman responsible for caring for Suleman's younger children. "She cannot drive the kids and drive herself and drive back here."
Thus far, the father and daughter pair have not seen each other while at the rehab center. According to TMZ, they are in complete opposite wings of the facility. But according to the source, family therapy will be part of the treatment that each of them receives.
Suleman's 14 children are, in the meantime, being taken care of by three nannies.
