Octomom Nadya Suleman and Her 14 Children Facing Eviction Before Christmas
Nadya Suleman, who is widely known as Octomom, is facing eviction from her Orange County, Calif. right before Christmas.
Suleman's landlord Lana El-Jor told The Mirror that she wants the mother of 14 to leave the five-bedroom three-bathroom home because her poor reputation as a tenant is hurting El-Jor secure needed financing.
"I have had problems refinancing the building myself because of her," El-Jor, who purchased the property where Suleman lives just last month, told The Mirror.
"That's one of the things why we have to ask her to leave. The bank refused to support the loan. She is said to have left her houses abused and everything and it worried the bank," she added.
El-Jor explained that Suleman was not home when she went to look at the house before buying it from Tim Chapman, a rehabilitation center owner, who knew Suleman from a previous treatment session.
El-Jor insists that Suleman and her children are too cramped in their current house and should find larger accommodations.
"Fourteen kids need a bigger backyard for sure. I saw they had four bunk beds. I think those were for the little ones. And they had beds in all the other rooms," El-Jor added.
Photos of the property, which used to be a halfway house for recovering alcoholics, show that the home is in poor condition and is in need of repair.
Suleman most recently made headlines after she was investigated for welfare fraud. She reportedly made over $200,000 last year from TV appearances and interviews but still claimed benefits, which led to an investigation. The fraud allegations were filed with the Los Angeles County Department of Welfare Fraud Prevention and Investigation and are still ongoing.
According to celebrity news website TMZ, the threshold for Suleman to collect welfare for her family, which includes 14 children in total, is just $119,000.
Suleman's financial struggles have been well documented over recent years by media outlets, as the celebrity mom fights to support her huge family as a single mom.
