Oklahoma City Thunder Rumors: Paul George Reportedly 'Impressed' by the Front Office, Will That Lead to a Long-Term Commitment?

The Oklahoma City Thunder finally managed to convince reigning MVP Russell Westbrook to stay with the team long-term, and in the process of doing so, they may have likewise given newly acquired Paul George a reason to also consider committing to the team.
For those who may have missed it, in the wake of Westbrook signing the lucrative contract extension the Thunder front office put in front of him, it was George who was perhaps the most impressed by the move.
Speaking recently to members of the media, George remarked that "from the commitment from the front office all the way down to Russ, the commitment here is off the charts," ESPN reported.

George speaking publicly about how he perceived the Westbrook extension was certainly noteworthy, and interestingly enough, it seemed like he was expressing those same sentiments even in private.
In a new article, noted NBA insider David Aldridge passed along some information shared by a source familiar with George who revealed that the 27-year-old has been impressed by the work done by the Thunder's front office this offseason.
Aside from acquiring George, general manager Sam Presti also recently swung a deal to bring forward Carmelo Anthony to the team. Another new arrival, Patrick Patterson, is also expected to be a key member of the rotation this season.
Beyond just being impressed, there is a chance that all of those moves may work out even better for the Thunder as it relates to George.
The source also revealed that George is going to hear the Thunder out when the time comes for him to make the next big decision in his career.
Listening to the front office and actually signing an extension are different things, of course, but it certainly has to be a positive sign that George now appears to be more open to the possibility of becoming a long-time member of the Thunder.
The Thunder's decision-makers have enjoyed a successful offseason, and there is a chance that things will continue to go well for the franchise moving forward, particularly when it comes to George.
